13-19 year olds make up the least number of cosmetic procedures – only 1% of the total. Some of the most common procedures for teens were: nose reshaping, male breast reduction, ear surgery, laser hair removal and laser skin resurfacing.

  • 226,000 total cosmetic procedures - Up 1%
  • 64,000 invasive surgical procedures - Up 1%
  • 162,000 minimally invasive procedures - Up 1%

20-29 year olds

  • 816,000 total cosmetic procedures - No change from 2014
  • 249,000 invasive surgical procedures - Up 1%
  • 567,000 minimally-invasive procedures - No change

30-39 year olds

  • 2.7 million total cosmetic procedures - Up 1%
  • 365,000 invasive surgical procedures - Up 2%
  • 2.3 million minimally-invasive procedures - Up 1%

40-54 year olds make up the majority of cosmetic procedures  –  49% of the total.

  • 7.4 million total cosmetic procedures - Up 2%
  • 543,000 invasive surgical procedures -Up 3%
  • 6.8 million minimally-invasive procedures - Up 2%

55 and over

  • 3.9 million total cosmetic procedures - Up 2%
  • 373,000 invasive surgical procedures- No change from 2014
  • 3.6 million minimally-invasive procedures - Up 2%
