Garment Fitting Guidelines and Helpful Hints
The following guidelines and tips are intended to assist patients and plastic surgery professionals determine correct garment sizing to ensure the best possible post-op fit.
Measuring your True Size
ClearPoint Medical compression wear is constructed with the patients True Size measurements in mind. True Size is derived from measurements taken without clothing, being careful not to let the measuring tape dig into the skin. Measuring techniques generally follow North American standards.
Whether measuring to fit breast wear, a girdle or a compression vest, the following guidelines will help select the best fitting garment.
All sizing is to be done pre-operatively.
Use a soft measuring tape.
The tape should be held firmly against the skin.
Measure in front of a mirror, or ideally, have someone else take your measurements. For accuracy, measure more than once.
Bras Style # 215, 216, 217, 218, 275, 276 and 277:

No cup measurement required.
To achieve proper fit and True Size, measure just below the band of your best fitting bra. More than likely, your current bra size will match the size of a ClearPoint Medical bra.
When between sizes choose the larger size.
Bras Style # 710:

Girdles:
Refer to Hip and Waist measurements on Garment Sizing Chart
Pre-op and post-op sizing will be different.
The hip measurement is the primary reference to achieve a proper fitting girdle.
Measure the circumference at the fullest part of the hip.
When between sizes, select the smaller size.
A generous fitting allowance is provided for 2XL and 3XL girdles.
If the patient has a disproportionately large waist compared to the hip, use the Waist measures on the Garment Sizing Chart as the primary reference guide.
Arm sleeves Style # 500 and 501:

The Upper Arm measurement is the primary reference to achieve a proper fit.
Relax your arm and measure the largest part above the bicep.
Please note that Upper Arm size ranges overlap on the size chart.
For example, if you measure 10 inches, you could be a S or a M. Choose the smaller size, in this case, S.
Compression vests Style # 287 and 288:

Men: Measure the chest just below the armpits.
Women: Measure the fullest part of your bust.
If you are between sizes choose the smaller size.
